Chief Executive Officer/co-Founder | Chief Cinematographer
Alan, a two-time regional Emmy Award-winning documentarian, brings diverse skills in filmmaking and documentary storytelling. Alan’s passion for digital stories and strategies in storytelling make him a huge asset to any team. His keen sense for movement and composition in his filmmaking style really adds a dynamic energy that helps projects come to life. He is originally from Fullerton, California, and has a degree in broadcast journalism, specializing in science documentaries from the University of Arizona School of Journalism. Minted in 2022 as the new Chief Executive Officer for Davis de Dios Media, Alan will lead DDM’s corporate efforts moving forward.
Alan also serves as Davis de Dios Media’s chief cinematographer and director of photography.

John, a former producer for the National Geographic Society, draws from nearly 20 years of experience in photojournalism, producing, and commercial photography. John’s background in news and science gives him a watchful and analytical eye when he works with clients in creating campaigns designed to capture the audience’s imagination and attention. John leads client and community relations at Davis de Dios Media, with a focus on our community and non-profit giveback programs.
John is also a huge animal lover, enjoying the company of dogs, cats, snakes, and everything in between.

Jonathan draws from experiences across casting, modeling, and being an on-air talent in executing his duties on a daily basis. Jonathan, an avid consumer of market news, follows creative trends for the creative group. Working in the aerospace manufacturing industry for many years, Jonathan has developed a keen eye for detail which helped shape his management style.
Jonathan oversees our contracted crew members in Tucson, and at the satellite offices in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

Web and Graphic Design
Emily Lake is a world-class graphic and web designer whose skills have brought life to many websites and legacy media from newspapers, and magazines to customized e-commerce and business websites. Her eye for color and design breathes a harmonious flow into her work. Emily is a proud mom of three energetic young boys and is also a voracious reader in her spare time!
First Assistant Director || Focus Puller
Kristopher Yanez joins the team after spending his student years at Pima Community College and later at the University of Arizona freelancing and interning under co-principals John de Dios and Alan Davis. Kris is an avid reader and consumer of news — pop culture or hard news. Kris, a father to a young daughter, balances his time between media production and being a dad.
Second Camera || Editor
Jordan Chin joins the team with experience from being a regional Emmy Award-winning video producer for Arizona Public Media (AZPM), the local PBS affiliate, and the Hiawatha Broadband Communications (HBC), Inc. During his time with AZPM, Jordan split his responsibilities in the studio and out in the field assisting or acting as the second camera. You may have seen some of his work on Arizona Illustrated (@az.illustrated), which features diverse and thought-provoking stories from the community.
Podcast Editor || Spanish Producer
Julia Blumberg, M.A., is a graduate of The University of Arizona with dual degrees in bilingual journalism and Latin American studies. She is an experienced producer and editor in bilingual audio stories and has been published with Arizona Public Media. Julia joins the team in spring 2023 as our lead podcast editor and Spanish producer and translator.
Drone Pilot || Production Assistant
Chabre Schumacher hails from Northern Arizona, where he honed his skills as a drone pilot, having experience working with a slew of different types of UAVs for filmmaking! Chabre specializes with FPV drones that give his filmmaking a birds-eye-view and opportunities for close-proximity flying. Chabre has been working with the Davis de Dios Media team on and off since 2018 and we are very happy to have him back in the fold!
Audio Engineer and Location Sound Mixer
Darrin Wood is a field-tested and passionate creative who joins ODD Creative Group with a background in location sound-mixing for short films and documentaries, while also having a strong background as a live-music audio engineer. Darrin received his bachelor of arts from the University of Arizona School of Theater, Film & Television. Darrin is also an outdoor enthusiast, often going hiking with his pup.
Production Coordinator and Script Writer
Caleb Tellez joins the team from Los Angeles, California. Caleb has worked in the TV and movie industries as a production coordinator and brings his network-production experience and writing to our clients nationally. Caleb, who also graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism at the UAz School of Journalism, is a graduate of the Groundlings school in Los Angeles.
Social Media Guru
Nathan Flora is an experienced hand with social media trends and techniques. He specializes in lead generation through Facebook advertising and keeping an eye on its ever-evolving algorithms. Nathan, a proud dad, and Texan is the only member of the team who is not a former U of A Wildcat, but we are very happy and lucky to have him on the team!

STUDENTS & ACADEMY
Production Apprentice (2022)
Joseph Wang is a graduate student from Southern California studying remotely in Tucson. He apprentices with the video production team, specializing in audio and focus-pulling skills. Joseph has been a welcome addition to the team and has been a constant presence in many of our productions, even amidst his busy graduate school schedule.
Video Production Intern (2020)
Alyssa Grabinski is a recent graduate of The University of Arizona School of Journalism, with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. In 2020, Alyssa was our first video intern, working closely with Alan Davis after initially meeting with both John and Alan. Through the course of her internship during the pandemic, Alyssa produced an online video series interviewing professionals from the entertainment and fashion industries. Alyssa has fielded job offers in California and New York and has also been accepted into the graduate program at the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications.
