5 Types of Professional Videos that Davis de Dios Media Can Provide for You

Over the last two pandemic-centered years, video marketing has increased more than ever before.

Wyzowl, a marketing company that specialized in explainer videos, found that 86% of marketers reported video marketing as their primary source of promotion since the pandemic began in 2020.

However, even before the pandemic made video marketing front-and-center, video marketing had already seen a growth of 61% in popularity among marketers between 2016 and when the pandemic started in 2020.

In this post, I am going to show you some of the video services we offer at Davis de Dios Media and how we can help you reach your market using video marketing. Here are five different styles of promotional videos Davis de Dios Media has created for some of our clients.

A ‘Reel’ is a vertical video shared on Instagram that can be up to 60 seconds long.

Reels are similar to the video viral sensations from social media competitor, TikTok. What sets Reels apart is that they use an additional 8% of screen space over TikTok. This was an intentional design decision from Meta, the parent company of both Facebook and Instagram, as a creative edge.

Reels, in comparison to other types of posts on Instagram, also receive 22% more engagement than videos posted to users’ feeds.

The Reel below was created to help promote ‘Surviving Mexico,’ an academic tome that published 20-years worth of border research from journalism professors at the University of Arizona.

This Reel was designed to not just generate interest for the publication, but also to drive momentum leading up to the date that ‘Surviving Mexico’ hit the shelves.

For the clients, this generated over 6000 views, giving them proper momentum heading into the release of the book in 2021.

Explainer Video

An explainer video piece poses a question and offers a solution, ultimately promoting the product or service being offered.

Explainer pieces should be compelling to your audience as they are often featured on website homepages and landing zones. It is also important that these videos are of higher quality so that they can remain relevant longer.

These videos can also include a call-to-action (CTA), which will give your audience a sense of urgency to act sooner, rather than later. Customer Think, an online community of business leaders, recommends including a clear CTA in content marketing in order to best stir curiosity within your targeted audience.

This explainer video below, we created for the multi-million-dollar collaborative, Center to Stream Healthcare in Place. The video discusses using wearable technologies at home and how, with their research, those devices can become more accessible and affordable.

Character Video or Profile

A character video or profile piece gives your targeted audience a look inside the mind of your business. This type of video highlights your intentions, as a company, and provides the audience an opportunity to get to know you and your team members on a more personal level.

Character pieces can speak on your company as a whole OR on an individual whether they be a team member or a loyal customer.

A character piece puts your product or service aside and shows your targeted audience why life is simply easier or improved with your business because of who you are. The character video will tell your story and sell your brand.

SmartBrief, a media company that focuses on business-to-business custom content, recently ranked “brand story” as one of the seven most powerful marketing strategies small businesses can utilize in 2022.

Recently, we produced this profile video on Kenneth Shirley, the CEO and co-founder of Indigenous Enterprise. Indigenous Enterprise is a dance group comprised of artists from different Indigenous nations across the United States and Canada that performs around the world. They also are a clothing brand. This short video on Shirley gives a tiny peek into the origins of the group through Shirley’s eyes.

Product Video

A promotional product video shows off the design and capabilities of your product, it draws attention to your business with a video that is visually beautiful. This type of promotion works especially well for the tech, beauty, and fashion industries.

With the pandemic came a substantial increase in video use in product marketing. Video in place of, or better, in addition to photo product advertisement increases the amount of time an audience spends on your website.

Rolling Stone magazine found that video advertising also increases search engine optimization (SEO), which is the process of improving your site to increase the likelihood and priority of your website showing up in online searches.

Check out this video we made showing off the use of StellaPro Lights, featuring Indigenous Enterprise in action.

Testimonial Video

A testimonial video promotes your business through the positive experience told from your client’s perspective. A testimonial video is multidimensional in that it can promote a product, service or simply speak about your company as a whole.

Current content marketing trends point toward presenting relatable emotions for the highest return on investment. Testimonial videos–though not used strictly for marketing– are the perfect opportunity to do so.

Testimonial videos employ empathy. Davis de Dios Media can use our finely tuned storytelling skills to create an empathetic message for your website, conference, project, and more!

This testimonial video made for Tactile Medical delivers the moving story of one patient and how their product and service saved his life.
